It contains ballads, racier tracks and dancefloor anthems. Unlike her debut album where she travelled between cities, Lewis remained in Los Angeles for the recording of Echo, which took nine months to produce.

The album achieved commercial success, peaking within the top twenty in nine countries, including debuting at number one in the UK with 161,000 copies sold in its first week. The song " My Hands" was used as the theme song for the video game Final Fantasy XIII. " I Got You" was released as the second single in February 2010.

The album was preceded by the single " Happy", released on 15 September 2009. amongst others to produce the follow-up to her debut album Spirit. Lewis worked with Ryan Tedder, Justin Timberlake, Max Martin, John Shanks, and Harvey Mason, Jr. The album charted across the globe, including the US, UK, Canada, across Europe, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, with commercial success. Its worldwide release was through Sony Music. It was released on 9 November 2009 including 16 November in the United Kingdom, and 17 November 2009 in the United States. Echo is the second studio album by English singer Leona Lewis.

He had started the project in 1996 and told Bill Beaver and Steve Wilcock of Triste magazine that "it completely dominated my life. this country-fried, cosmic rock album." Īs a writer Walker published a biography of Parsons, God's Own Singer, in 2002. But it’s on the cover versions featured here that you can hear soul stretching out. Delusions of Adequacy 's Geoff Parks compared him with Ryan Adams and opined that Walker was "out there on the edges, pushing harder, moving quicker than Adams, who has now become a mainstream media darling." Parks noticed " maturity and songwriting finesse shine through. Walker's debut studio album, Stranger to Someone, was issued via Laughing Outlaw Records in October 2001. In 1998 they released their debut album of originals, Twin Firs.

That group had started two years earlier as a covers band, playing Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson and Gram Parsons material. In 1997 he joined Golden Rough on guitar alongside Brian Crouch on piano, David Orwell on vocals and guitar, Helen Meany on bass guitar and vocals, and Martin McDonald on drums. Born in New Zealand in 1969, Jason Walker moved to Sydney, Australia at age 18.
